Headless e-commerce rebuild for a UK retailer

Windsor Bathrooms, UK · Developer · 2026

Rebuilt a WooCommerce store as a headless Medusa 2 + Next.js storefront on Supabase, with the full product catalogue migrated, transactional email and search.

The problem

A large WooCommerce catalogue with variants, brands and categories had to move to a faster, cheaper stack without losing data, and the client's staff needed a simpler admin for adding products.

What was done

  • ✓ETL from the WooCommerce MySQL backup into Medusa: products, variants, categories, brands and images (web-optimised)
  • ✓Next.js 15 storefront with Tailwind; Medusa 2 backend with a custom, simplified Add Product admin page and white-labelled admin
  • ✓Supabase Postgres and storage, Resend transactional email (orders, shipments, staff alerts), Meilisearch for search
  • ✓Dockerised deployment on Render with a one-click blueprint

Evidence

The storefront running on the migrated catalogue (1,500+ real products)

  • Medusa 2
  • Next.js 15
  • Supabase
  • Resend
  • Meilisearch
  • Docker / Render
Windsor Bathrooms storefront home page
Home page: hero, trust bar, category and brand navigation
Showers category page with filters by price, brand and colour
Category page with faceted filters (price, brand, colour, style) and sale badges
Product page for a freestanding bathtub with price and add to cart
Product page: migrated description, pricing, add to cart
Shop-all page listing the catalogue
Shop all: paginated catalogue with sort and filters

Outcome

Full catalogue live on the new stack; staff can add products without touching WooCommerce.
